Crossover from Fermi Liquid to Non-Fermi Liquid Behavior in a Solvable One-Dimensional Model
We consider a quantum many-body problem in one-dimension described by a Jastrow type wavefunction, characterized by an exponent λ and a parameter γ. In the limit γ = 0 the model becomes identical to the well known 1/r2 pair-potential model; γ is shown to be related to the strength of a many body correction to the 1/r2 interaction. Exact results for the one-particle density matrix are obtained f...
متن کاملCritical behavior of a one-dimensional fixed-energy stochastic sandpile.
We study a one-dimensional fixed-energy version (that is, with no input or loss of particles) of Manna's stochastic sandpile model. The system has a continuous transition to an absorbing state at a critical value of the particle density, and exhibits the hallmarks of an absorbing-state phase transition, including finite-size scaling. Critical exponents are obtained from extensive simulations, w...
متن کاملCrossover Critical Behavior in the Three-Dimensional Ising Model
The character of critical behavior in physical systems depends on the range of interactions. In the limit of infinite range of the interactions, systems will exhibit mean-field critical behavior, i.e., critical behavior not affected by fluctuations of the order parameter. If the interaction range is finite, the critical behavior asymptotically close to the critical point is determined by fluctu...
متن کاملInterface in a One-dimensional Ising Model with Random Interactions
The purpose of this paper is to localize an interface in a one-dimensional Ising model with random Kac potentials. To study this system we deene a Gibbs measure which depends on a quenched variable y which models the random part of interactions and on a scaling parameter which rules the range of interactions. In the Kac asymptotic, as goes to 0, we prove a large deviation principle with rate fu...
متن کاملOne-dimensional heat conductivity exponent from a random collision model.
We obtain numerically the thermal conductivity of a quasi-one-dimensional classical chain of hard sphere particles as a function of the length of the chain, introducing a fresh model for this problem. The conductivity scales as a power law of the length over two decades, with an exponent very close to the analytical prediction of 1/3.
